The gazebo along the park entrance road is a special place for reflection and remembering. During the 2001-2002 school year, eight students who all attended Slippery Rock High School, died in various tragic accidents. A memory plaque is placed there for: Adam Protzman, Ashley Anderson, Joey Vedilago, Ben Bicehouse, Sara Ann Steiner, Ryan McCaffrey, Nikki Cyphert, and Jason Yakima.
